day one...Eucharisteo

Recently I read this book
One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are
and absolutely loved it.

I have a new word.
My life word....
if there is such a thing.

Eucharisteo

it is a beautiful greek word
and it means
thanksgiving, to be grateful.

The author, Ann Voskamp, had hard
things happen to her in her life and to loved ones.
She became bitter towards life and God.
A strong desire came to her for change, to be closer to God and
thanks to a simple but huge suggestion
from a good friend, she began a list of blessings.
A list of 1,000 blessings.
yes, one thousand.
It took her 18 months.
In that time, it transformed her into a
more grateful and happier person.
I agree with her 100% that there are always things to
be grateful for and the more gratitude we express
the happier we are with ourselves, others and our lives.
There is so much more in this wonderful book, but to me
the bottom line is this:
if you are grateful, you are happy.
AND never forget where your blessings come from.

If you feel like reading more about
Eucharisteo
go here, it's a wonderful article.
